ST-H series endmill. Not the most expensive, not the cheapest. Does the job exactly as advertised. We use them in our shop for soft-steel and aluminum roughing. 100+ minutes per corner, no chatter, sharp out of the box. 5 stars.
ST-H series, mid-carbon work under HRC50. Tested on 1018 mild steel and 4140 at HRC28. Coated carbide, sharp edge, runs clean at the recommended 80 m/min. Tool life on the order of 100 minutes per corner. Honestly, no complaints — does the job properly. 5 stars.
Taiwan-made endmill, mid-grade price, mid-grade performance. Tested on 1045 steel at HRC22, 100 m/min, 0.1 mm/rev with coolant. Lasted 3+ hours per corner, surface finish was a clean Ra 0.8. Excellent value for a general-purpose milling cutter. 5 stars.
Taiwan-sourced ST-H series for general-purpose milling. We have used these on mild steel, aluminum, and some stainless. Solid build, good edge geometry, reasonable life. For a daily-driver endmill in a job shop, these are hard to beat at the price. We keep a dozen in the cabinet at all times. 5 stars.
Budget-friendly workhorse for general milling. Dry or with coolant, sharp out of the box, no chatter in the recommended envelope. We use these for soft steel up to HRC35 and they are perfectly adequate. 5 stars for what they are.
